I have been a part of the Lives Worth Living community, affectionately named "Philosophy Camp" since 2015. Philosophy Camp is a residential course offered by the University of Minnesota Philosophy Department in conjunction with the Center for Community-Engaged Learning with a focus on the Socratic tradition of cooperative inquiry into large questions about identity, meaning, and purpose. In my years of involvement with the Philosophy Camp, I have served as an apprentice instructor, a community fellow, and the camp's unofficial photographer and videographer! My goal is to document the unique pedagogy of the course, which employs storytelling as the main method of philosophical reflection, and its effect on the lives of the students. You can find my digital media library of interviews on my media website.
A big part of making philosophy more diverse is practicing it on a daily basis. To work on this goal, I work as an APPA -certified philosophical counselor and hold philosophy retreats, workshops, and walks. Check out my counseling website.
I am a founding board member of the Iranian Culture House. We facilitate the appreciation of Iranian art, culture, and history in the Twin Cities. Contact us if you have a cool event idea or want to collaborate on an art project!
